Welcome Message from the Parish Administrator
In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit One God, Amen.Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is with heartfelt joy and spiritual reverence that we welcome you to Debre Menkrat St. Emmanuel and St. Rufael Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church a sacred refuge established by divine providence to preserve the apostolic faith and nourish the souls of God’s people. Since 2012, our parish has served as a spiritual home for the faithful in Alexandria, Arlington, and beyond. Rooted in the ancient and unbroken tradition of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church a Church founded upon the teachings of the apostles and sanctified by the blood of martyrs we continue to bear witness to the Gospel through liturgy, prayer, sacrament, and fellowship. We uphold a living faith: one passed down through generations, rich in Scripture, tradition, and worship. In the spirit of our forefathers, we labor to raise children in holiness, minister to one another in love, and glorify God through service and humility. This website is intended to be a window into our spiritual life a place where you can learn about our history, our liturgical rhythm, our teachings, and the life giving sacraments of the Church. Whether you are new to Orthodoxy or returning to your spiritual roots, we pray that this space encourages you to draw closer to Christ and His Church. “You also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Luke 12:40 We invite you to join us in prayer especially during our weekly Divine Liturgy and on feast days and to become part of the living Body of Christ, through whom all salvation is fulfilled. May the Lord bless you and keep you in His mercy, now and always. With love in Christ, Meleake Tsion Abba Haile Giorgis
